There are many restaurants around Orlando here are just a few:
Olive Garden - Another great restaurant
Santa Fe Steakhouse - Within a 10/12 minute walk from our home
Chilis - Great restaurant and bar within a 20 minute walk from our home
Carrabba’s Italian grill restaurant. You get fresh bread and a herby dip to munch on whilst choosing.
Great atmosphere. On the 192 next to Splendid China.
Randy’s Family-owned diner. Great for a snack lunch. 10 minutes up US 27
Sweet Tomatoes The best vegetarian restaurant in town. Featured on BBC’s Holiday you call the
shots. Fantastic range of salads, soups etc at a very low fixed price. At the top of International Drive.
Great after a day at Universal.
Cracker Barrel Country Store Could easily be described as “American twee.” Entry is via the
covered porch (complete with rocking chairs). Don’t be discouraged by the souvenir store,
as one has to pass traditional southern cooking. On 192 around marker 4.
The Olive Garden We really like eating here. You get a great value Italian meal (although if you have
wine the cost can mount up). Children are also well catered for and seem to like it as well. A good place
to relax after a busy day at the parks. On the 192 marker 3.
Golden Corral Eat as much as you like buffet like at the Ponderosa, Sizzlers etc.. On the 192 of
course! Marker 4 and Marker 8 - just before OLD TOWN
Dipping Dots ICE CREAM. Ice cream made to look like, wait for it, DOTS!!! Kids loved it. On the 192
is an outlet that does all the flavours you can think of; even try before you buy! Small, medium, large
Dairy Queen The kids absolutely love Dairy Queen – great for takeaway ice creams and sundaes,
but also fast food. On 192 next to Splendid China.
Charlie’s For a special night out. Charlie’s consistently comes in the top ten steak houses in the USA.
Don’t order starters and sharing a steak is worth considering. Great wine list too. On 192 near
Chili’s For a great tex-mex try either Chilli’s or Chevy’s, both on the 192.
Subway Not a restaurant, but the best sandwiches we have ever tasted.
Downtown Disney - includes the likes of Planet Hollywood and Rainforest Cafe.
Universal Citywalk – Variety of shops and restaurants including Hard Rock Café, NBA Café,
Nascar Café. Beware, however, you may have to pay for parking!
SUPERMARKETS
There are a number of supermarkets within the vicinity of Glenbrook Resort, all within few minutes
drive away. You will find:
*****WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE AT THE ENTRANCE OF GLENBROOK is SWEETBAYS****
- At the junction of US27 there is a Walmart Superstore - just a minutes drive away
- At the end of the 192 close to the junction of the US27 is a new massive Publix Supermarket
- Also to be found at the entrance of the Glenbrook Resort is also a Walgreens and CVS.
